‘Citation Diversity Statement’: A Renowned Chemist Sounds Off On Her Boycott of a Premier Scientific Journal
Plus, how the UN tossed aside Israeli intel when probing staffers' Hamas ties
A renowned chemist is boycotting the scientific journal Nature for requiring “citation diversity statements.” Not familiar? I wasn’t either. They’re testaments that the author has made an effort to cite “a diverse group of researchers” and acknowledge “citation imbalances” based on race and gender.
That was the last straw for Anna Krylov, a University of Southern California professor and member of the American Academy of Arts & Sciences. She spoke to our Aaron Sibarium about the situation.
“When it comes to Nature, they’ve really outdone everyone else. They’re leading the race to the bottom,” she said.
“They’ve had a ‘diversity pledge’ since 2019—it’s not new—in which they say they will promote diversity at any cost across all domains.
“Recently, they published a new unsigned editorial—just a few weeks ago, on October 8—where they said they were committing to ‘citation justice.’ They invited authors, on a supposedly voluntary basis, to include ‘citation diversity statements,’ and they even gave examples of what those should look like.”
Read the whole thing.
A United Nations investigation into its employees’ involvement in Oct. 7 dismissed Israeli intelligence linking those staffers to Hamas, an internal U.N. report reviewed by our Adam Kredo shows.
In one case, the report cites an intercepted phone call between an UNRWA staffer and his Hamas terrorist son, who boasted of taking an Israeli woman hostage. The report acknowledges that the call occurred—but says the staffer’s “tone, language and utterances appear to be that of a parent outraged by his errant son’s conduct.” You know, when your wascally kid takes Jewish women hostage. I hate when that happens.
The report also cites text messages from a Hamas commander asking an UNRWA staffer to bring him “two anti-tank missiles.” That evidence was “insufficient,” the report states, because the staffer “denied involvement.” Case closed!
The U.N. launched the probe after Israel alleged that 19 UNRWA staffers participated in the massacre. It cleared 10 of those staffers, announcing last August that it “was not able to independently authenticate information used by Israel to support the allegations,” but did not release details or disclose its methodologies.
“The revelation suggests UNRWA may still employ Hamas terrorists who could play a role on the ground if the international organization is allowed to direct aid distribution in Gaza,” Kredo writes. “As the Free Beacon has reported, at least one senior U.N. official who wishes to restore UNRWA’s control of aid has angled for a prominent position in President Donald Trump’s plans for the territory.”

Graham Platner, the Maine Senate candidate who attended an elite Connecticut prep school thanks to his famous architect grandfather, wants to make billionaires “extinct.”
Platner made the call during a Sunday rally in Portland, Maine. Our Jessica Schwalb was in attendance. So was a man in a “Make Billionaires Extinct” shirt, which prompted a shout-out from Platner. “I just have to call out the ‘Make Billionaires Extinct’ T-shirt I see down there,” he said approvingly, grinning as the audience broke out in cheers and applause.
“If Platner swapped ‘billionaires’ for ‘millionaires,’ the call would likely apply to members of his own family,” writes Schwalb. “His grandfather, Warren Platner, was a world-famous architect known for ‘opulent modernism‘ designs, including the ‘Platner Easy Chair,’ which sells for nearly $20,000. Platner himself attended the Hotchkiss School, an elite Connecticut boarding school that costs upwards of $75,000 a year and boasts powerful alumni like Supreme Court justice Potter Stewart and former CIA director Porter Goss, the Washington Free Beacon reported.”

News to us, but the Heritage Foundation has a National Task Force to Combat Antisemitism. Awkward. National Jewish Advocacy Center CEO Mark Goldfeder resigned from the task force on Sunday citing Heritage Foundation president Kevin Roberts’s defense of Tucker Carlson and Carlson’s chummy interview with Nazi fanboy Nick Fuentes. “Elevating him, and then attacking those who object as somehow un-American or disloyal, in a video replete with antisemitic tropes and dog-whistles no less, is not the protection of free speech: It is moral collapse disguised as courage,” Goldfeder wrote in a resignation letter.
Roberts did the right-wing equivalent of the Full Ginsburg over the weekend in an effort to manage the fallout from the video statement he issued Thursday indicating that Tucker Carlson will “always” be a “close friend” of the Heritage Foundation. In interviews with Dana Loesch, Ben Domenech, and RealClearPolitics, Roberts said his statement was well-received by most people, which is obviously why he spent Friday trying to explain himself. Roberts also said we can’t cancel people because that just makes them more popular. Cancel me, Kevin!
What exactly does being a “close friend” of Heritage get you? Roughly $1.2 million, it turns out. That’s the amount of money Heritage spent sponsoring Carlson’s podcast over a 12-month period beginning in June 2024, per Joel Mowbray. The spending stopped after Donald Trump struck Iran and called Carlson “kooky.”

Three House Bernie the millionaire used to rail against millionaires until he became one (through grift of course, not hard work). Now he just rails against billionaires, while gladly canoodling with some to destroy America.
Platner is just a wanna be Bernie
What can one say anymore? The USA is now in the midst of both Holocaust II and a takeover by radical islamists and communists. If new laws are not instituted to ban these groups, - and with severe penalties - there will be no hope for the continuation of Constitutional America. Its laws are being manipulated to destroy the USA from within.
