Journalists Pounce on Republicans for Noticing Crime
Plus, LeBron shills for the ChiComs and the UN's Palestinian envoy faces challenge to her diplomatic immunity
Vagrant stabs, Republicans notice: Republicans have committed the unforgivable sin of noticing violent crime.
Outlets from Axios to CNN scolded Donald Trump and his allies for drawing attention to 23-year-old Ukrainian refugee Iryna Zarutska, who was stabbed to death by a mentally ill homeless man with a lengthy rap sheet while riding a train in Charlotte. They framed the tragedy not as a policy failure—the killer, Decarlos Brown, had received lenient treatment in the city's Democrat-controlled justice system—but rather as a political "flashpoint" exploited by cynical Republicans.
CNN's Brian Stelter called Republican reactions to the attack "baldly racist" before conceding there are "legitimate questions" about why Brown was allowed to roam the streets. Axios reporter Marc Caputo said "MAGA influencers" were "drawing repeated attention to violent attacks to elevate the issue of urban crime — and accuse mainstream media of under-covering shocking cases." We, for our part, definitely can’t recall a time when the press has described violent urban conflagrations as mostly peaceful protests, so those people were obviously out of line.
"For what it's worth, the accusation of media indifference seems rather irrefutable given that Axios was one of the first national outlets to mention the fatal stabbing, which occurred on Aug. 22, in a story suggesting Republicans were at fault for noticing," our Andrew Stiles writes. "It goes without saying that if Zarutska had been killed in a manner that was more convenient for the preferred Democratic narrative—that gun owners and Trump supporters are the only criminals who matter—her story would be leading every national newscast."

Hope Xi sees this, bro: LeBron James, the NBA star and China simp who slammed league executive Daryl Morey's pro-Hong Kong remarks back in 2019, took his simping to a new level, penning an op-ed for the official newspaper of the Chinese Communist Party, the People's Daily.
In the piece, James praised the "hospitality and friendliness of our Chinese friends"—he just returned from the communist nation following a Nike-sponsored tour to sell sneakers—and pledged to deepen the "sports exchange" with China, which he described as a "bridge" between the East and West. It's a win for the CCP, which has used the People's Daily to deny the ongoing Uyghur genocide in Xinjiang and accuse America of using the Pfizer vaccine to kill elderly people in Norway.
Laura Ingraham took heat back in the day when she told LeBron to “shut up and dribble,” and maybe she took it a little far. Just shut up!
Better lawyer up: As a U.N. official, anti-Semitic Palestinian rights envoy Francesca Albanese enjoys diplomatic immunity that shields her from any lawsuit targeting her official actions. A new legal campaign aims to take that privilege away.
Two U.S. nonprofits, the Christian Friends of Israeli Communities and Christians for Israel, sued Albanese in federal court for making "defamatory, derogatory, and hateful" statements against them. Albanese threatened the groups earlier this year with "criminal liability" for their work to support the Jewish state, threats they say harmed their "reputations and financial wellbeing" and thus warrant "compensatory and punitive damages." Usually Albanese would be able to make such statements with impunity. The groups argue she should lose her immunity for violating the U.N. Code of Conduct.
Should the two nonprofits succeed, our Adam Kredo reports, they could set the stage for other American groups subject to attacks from Albanese to sue for defamation as well. When Albanese published a report earlier this year accusing a number of U.S. companies and nonprofits of perpetuating Israel's "economy of genocide," the Trump administration warned her that consequences could follow.
In other news:
Two Palestinian terrorists from the West Bank killed 6 people and injured at least 20 others after opening fire on commuters at a Jerusalem bus station on Monday. Their families will now be rewarded handsomely under the Palestinian Authority’s longstanding "pay-to-slay" program, which has continued even as the PA claims it's being reformed.
CBS’s new owner, Paramount, has tapped a new ombudsman for CBS News: Kenneth Weinstein, the former CEO of the conservative Hudson Institute. Weinstein, who defended CBS anchor Tony Dokoupil for asking tough questions of anti-Israel author and left-wing darling Ta-Nehisi Coates, will "serve as an independent, internal advocate for journalistic integrity and transparency," Paramount said in a statement. Dan Rather could not be reached for comment.
Senate Majority Leader John Thune (R., S.D.) is pushing to change Senate rules to allow White House nominees to be confirmed in groups, he announced on Monday. The move comes as Democrats push nearly every executive branch nominee through a drawn-out confirmation process.

The violent, deranged criminals are only part of the problem. They have to share the stage with the main stream morons who are as ignorant as the day is long, and the Dumbacraps who run the cesspool cities in the country. And I’d bet my last dollar that this guy who committed this murder is now enjoying 3 hots and a cot being paid for compliments of the American tax payers. A less expensive alternative would be a rope from the hardware store. And the judges who put garbage like this back on the streets with no treatment or punishment need to disappear.
Protecting and putting Americans first to Democrats is like sunlight to a vampire. https://torrancestephensphd.substack.com/p/rise-of-the-mashed-potato-brained
