The nazi-tatted "everyday Mainer" doesn't NEED to take a salary from the oyster company---there is only one customer--his MOTHER, who own a restaurant on the coast of Maine, for which he provides fresh oysters. Mommy just give cash.

A liar and an elitist fraud.

With a nazi tattoo to boot

All winning qualifications to the Mainer dems

"Platner could take a salary or “owner’s draw” from the company but opted not to “so as not to affect his disability benefits,” the Maine Wire reported, citing a “campaign spokesperson.” The disclosure states that Platner’s wife received salary payments from the oyster company and the campaign."

He could be self-supporting, but prefers to leech off the taxpayers...

I grew up around oyster farmers and this asshole is only playing an oyster farmer, not feeding his family from backbreaking farm work. Absolute poser...

I hear tell he's still got 50 payments left on his deaths head tattoo to make.

What is his "disability" ?

Bryan's avatar

Compulsive lying?

All the above boxes checked! I was going say that he's got 'Dain Bramage', a required characteristic of democratic supporters. 😂

He has PTSD from 4 tours in Iraq and Afghanistan.

"... without the “support of the VA?.” Bunk - Everyone with an Honorable discharge and service tims qualifies for a VA no-down home loan - did he miss that Honorable discharge? That amount of disability pay indicates a 100% Disability Rating (I have that left from Vietnam era service) - but what's his disability? I don't see any missing limbs - is it PTSD? That would disqualify him from many occupations, because one of the main symptoms is Potential Emotional Instability - do we want that in the Senate?

Let's see his DD-214!

Tom Ford's avatar

Yes, the DD-214 might tell a lot. And, if hhis disability IS PTSD, his fellow Denorats might say it's gone away - but the VA would disagree; the compensation for PTSD, un like that for, say cancer or leukemia, is "Permanent and Total," because thry believe it can never go away, unlike cancer or leukemia, that has a 100% compensation, but they may test you regularly to see if they can take it away.

I live in an area with lots of veterans/retired military. I see lots of Disabled Veterans auto tags but able-bodied people using them. Makes you kind of wonder.

Tom Ford's avatar

There are many levels of VA Disability that are not obvious, such as Hearing Loss, Flat Feet (with smaller compensation levels), but also life-changing diseases that might carry 100% compensation (that's surrently around $4000/month or so, depending on dependents), and Permanent & Total Disabilities, such as missing limbs - and PTSD. The requirements for Disabled license plates vary by State, and require a VA decision letter, as the DD-214 doesn't show this information - the VA decision to pay compensation may come years or even decades after the DD-214.

How can he be a senator if he's on disability?

James Whiley's avatar

There are plenty of them in Congress. We call them democrats.

Another democrat islamocommie that is everything he rails against.

The promissory note was to cover dear old dad from having to pay a gift tax which in essence it is because unless he's audited by the IRS, no one's the wiser. Platner and Newsome strike a familiar chord as raised "from middle class family" even though "middle class" must be at least six/seven figure income to democrats. I hope that Mainers recognize this patent lie and vote for Collins (even though I cringe at these words). Collins can provide the GOP with the needed majority and hopefully will find conservatism of value.

We know all this and we support him anyway. We know about the tattoo. We know about the Reddit posts. We know his parents have money. We know he has PTSD forever. We still know him to be honest, forthright, accountable, and humble. If you watch his speeches or interviews you’ll see. He doesn’t dodge hard questions. If/when he gets to dC he’ll be working for you too unless you’re super wealthy.

Oh my how people love to get into other people's family business!!!! These wts being asked are soook wrong . Get over it people leave people's personal. Life outta your curiosity . Just dumb.

Hey Debby. It doesn't bother you the man lied about this? After all, Platner is selling himself as just another average guy but he's not so must lie. Same with that Cortez bimbo from the Bronx and Jasmine Crockett who grew up in a ritzy neighborhood and attended a high end private school. They're liars and must lie about their personal lives to act like just an average person and chumps believe them.

...AOC, and the list goes one. Wasn't it one important politician who said "Honesty is the best policy". Lying to curry votes smack of a less savory character which most democrats identify with. I had to bare my personal life to maintain a security clearance when I was in the Navy for 22 years. I and most people expect more out a public servant wannabe.
