The indictments brought in the Eastern District of Michigan last week against eight 20-somethings deeply involved in anti-Israel protests at the University of Michigan’s Ann Arbor campus pull back the curtain on what that movement is really about.
Why is there so much hatred still being thrown at Jews??? I honestly cannot understand the thought process behind this kind of rage. I’m appalled by too many of our universities, and I’m old enough to remember when a graduate student was killed when a bomb was thrown through the window in one of the UW campus buildings as part of the Vietnam protests. I was young, but I also remember those awful terrorist groups. Didn’t we learn anything? I believe I read somewhere that many of the students who participated in the protests became professors, and that might include our bomber.
I was IN the Vietnam War, flying helicopters, so I remember it quite well. I came home on leave one time to have tomatoes thrown at me as I got off of the aircraft at the airport, threatened by a mob of young people as my wife and myself were attempting to have dinner at a nice restaurant and threatened as we sat on our front porch. We are going to have this type of conduct as long as we permit our colleges and universities to become propaganda outlets for our enemies with absolutely no sense of responsibility or accountability for what they are forwarding to their students as factual information when much of it is actually written by our enemy themself. Once we, as US Citizens take back control of our educational system and start demanding that our students be taught the TRUTH instead of the Democrat Propaganda and the Left Wing insanity, then we can demand that teachers actually teach what is in the approved curriculum instead of their opinion, the students can be held to and be accountable for maintaining a certain level of achievement and, perhaps we can restore law and order, ethics and a sense of morality back into the social structure of the United States.
The 60s campus protests became romanticized in the minds of some members of subsequent generations. Generally leftists and those who internalize their beliefs who find their worth in public performance. Where is their Kent State? They wish fame as today's Weathermen, SLA, Chicago 7. Cosplayers, larps looking for an identity. The best thing to do is not give it to them. We don't need future kids romanticizing a "Michigan 8"....
